Bilbao raises the curtain with a more feminine viewpoint. The 28th<\/sup> edition of \u2018Zinemakumeak gara!\u2019 is about to commence, the film exhibition directed by women from Bilbao. A new approach which commemorates the 150th<\/sup> anniversary of the birth of Alice Guy, the first female filmmaker in history and author of the first work of fiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of this event is to exhibit films made by women.<\/strong> It has an extensive programme of screenings, but also completed with numerous activities, such as conferences, calls, round tables, special sessions and workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latter, the workshops, will be held in BBK Kuna. From 23 to 25 October, from 18:00 to 20:00 h.<\/strong>, <\/strong>hosting the three sessions of the workshop Read them like a girl<\/em>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop is aimed at people interested in learning or broadening their knowledge on audiovisual production and analysing image criticism from a gender perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tania L\u00f3pez<\/a> and <\/a>D\u00e9b Garc\u00eda<\/a> will be in charge of guiding attendees through the contents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be three sessions<\/strong> which will review the history of images, asking and posing questions. To do this, an analysis will be made of shots and scenes of some mythical films, and other more contemporary ones in order to approach how to read an image, what is the feminist perspective, and even question whether images can be feminist or sexist. And even compare images and see how they are transformed.<\/strong> See how these old images can become new under the wing of new discourses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each one of the three sessions will have a specific theme:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1st<\/sup> Session:<\/strong> What is gender perspective? How to read an image? Neither sexist nor feminist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2nd<\/sup> Session:<\/strong> against the rule, can we tell Hitchcock to go to hell? And Rohmer? What remains when there is nothing left?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3rd<\/sup> Session:<\/strong> images that care for us. Images that heal us. Affections. The world. The Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
