Singing integrates socially

The Bilbao Choral Society is one of the oldest and most prestigious musical institutions in the Basque Country. Founded in 1886, the Bilbao Choral Society has played a fundamental role in the promotion and development of choral music in the Basque Country.

Since its beginnings, the Bilbao Choral Society has stood out for its commitment to artistic quality and the dissemination of the choral repertoire, covering both classical and contemporary works. Throughout its history, it has performed a wide repertoire that includes sacred music, opera and zarzuela, with a special dedication to Basque music. The Bilbao Choral Society has collaborated with important orchestras and conductors of international renown, and has performed on prestigious stages both locally and internationally.

In addition to its concert activity, the society works in the training and musical education of young people and adults. With the aim of bringing choral singing to very diverse environments, it has created new projects such as Eskola Kantari (school choirs in vulnerable environments), Musika Bizi (musical activity in old people’s homes), Gorabide Korala or musical activities in penitentiary centers.
