On board time: Navigating towards an intercultural future

Within the framework of the Learning Community: Intercultural Logbook, that we have in place in BBK Kuna, in collaboration with UN Etxea – Basque Country Association for UNESCO, we will present on board time, a theatre play, a result of everything we have shared in our sessions.

On board time is an exciting journey that has led us to reflect on the richness of our differences and importance of building a more inclusive future. Through the voices and experiences of the participants, we have explored how interculturality can be a driver for social innovation.

But what is social innovation?

Social innovation goes beyond technology and products. It’s about finding creative solutions to social challenges, placing people in the centre. In this regard, interculturality is an endless source of innovation, since it invites us to think differently, to question our own beliefs and to find new ways to collaborate.

Interculturality as a catalyst of innovation

By encouraging dialogue and respect between cultures, interculturality enables us to:

  • Discover new perspectives: by interacting with people from different backgrounds, we broaden our vision of the world and acquire new tools to tackle challenges.
  • Encourage creativity: cultural diversity enriches our thinking and leads us to look for more creative and original solutions.
  • Build stronger communities: interculturality fosters social cohesion and helps us to build relationships base on mutual respect.

How can we apply interculturality in our everyday life?

  • Active listening: pay attention to the experiences and perspectives of others, without judging.
  • Empathy: put yourself in the place of others and try to understand their points of view.
  • Collaboration: work with people from different backgrounds to achieve common objectives.
  • Continuous learning: keep an open mind and constantly look for new learning opportunities.

On board time has been a first step on this journey towards a more intercultural future. Through shared stories, we have sown the seeds of a positive change.

We invite you to continue exploring this theme, come along on the 14 of November and enjoy the event together with the people who are involved in it.

It is a grain of sand in demonstrating how we can build a fairer and more equitable world.
