Curavacas (2,524 metres above sea level) is located on the southern slopes of the Cantabrian Mountains, in the massif of Fuentes Carrionas. It is the summit par excellence of the Montaña Palentina Natural Park. In 2012, J. M. Álvarez began a photographic chronicle of this mountain, focusing his gaze on the colossal walls of conglomerate and lichen on its south face. With this project of seasonal variation (2012-18), the author remains faithful to the heritage of traditional photography and his tenacity for the absence of further manipulation.
