Development Of The Post-Pandemic White Paper
On the 21st of July the: “Post-Pandemic White Paper: resilience facilities and the welfare state in the post-coronavirus world” workshop took place, in which the painting “Ulysses deriding Polyphemus” by William Turner was taken as a starting point to discuss how the coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on the welfare state.
For this discussion we had three leading experts:
- Judit Vall. @juditvall Associate Professor, Department of Economics at the University of Barcelona, and Researcher at the IEB Foundation and CRES at Pompeu Fabra University
- Marga León. @leon_marga Professor and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Government and Public Policy (IGOP) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona
- Patricia Bárcena. @BarcenaPatricia Director of CEAR Euskadi.
The research has been structured around the following core ideas: (i) democratic governance, (ii) gender equality, (iii) welfare state, (iv) climate change, and (v) Artificial Intelligence. A key part of the project has been the interdisciplinary work carried out with different agents, including academic experts, small businesses and cooperatives, and civil society associations.
