BBK ARTEGILEAK EXHIBITION
Artistic residency in social centers in Bizkaia promoted by the BBK Foundation and coordinated by ANTespacio
Fair Saturday Festival.
Emakumearen Taupadak is a project dedicated to raising the profile of women as creators in the artistic world, with a special focus on music. Our mission is to discover and bring to the public the lives and works of great female composers forgotten by history, through recitals that also feature paintings by contemporary artists.
On this occasion, we will take a journey through the female piano of late Romanticism. We will listen to and learn about the lives and works of five composers, each from a different part of the world, but all of whom share the fact that they are creators and also belong to the same musical period: late Romanticism. This is a period that spans from the mid-19th century to the emergence of new trends such as Impressionism.
In piano music, late Romanticism is characterized by pieces full of virtuosity and emotion, with highly expressive melodies and rich harmonies. Composers of this period explored the full potential of the piano, creating works that required great technique and sensitivity.
All proceeds will go to the Clara Campoamor Association, whose objectives are to defend women’s rights, offer comprehensive assistance to victims of gender-based violence and other forms of violence, and promote equality through prevention and awareness-raising.
