VIII Education, Arts and Citizenship Seminar dedicated to the Culture of Peace

Bilbao City Council and UN Etxea-Basque Country Association for UNESCO join forces and share the idea that respect for cultural diversity is essential to promote intercultural dialogue, sustainable development and peace.

– Maider Maraña, director of Baketik and expert in cultural rights and culture of peace, will open the day.

– Afterwards, Alex Carrascosa, artivist and lecturer at the UPV/EHU and Iratxe Momoitio, director of the Gernika Peace Museum, will discuss the construction of peace from the arts and culture through artistic practice and heritage.

– This will be followed by a round table of inspiring cases of those who through fashion (Blessing My Soul/Blanchard Moussayou Sambou), music (Etorkizuna Musikatan), theater (Utopian) and audiovisual (José Miguel Llano/Dame 1 Minuto De Paz) incorporate peace, dialogue and coexistence in their creative work.

– We will close the day with a poetry reading by Maná Delkash, Iranian poet based in Bilbao.
