Success of “A bordo del tiempo” at Sala BBK
On 14 November, Sala BBK in Bilbao hosted the staging of A bordo del tiempo (On board time), a play that recorded an absolute full house and thrilled all the people who attended. This stage project is the result of months of joint work between BBK Kuna and UN Etxea, who have promoted a space for reflection from the arts and culture on how we interact, feel, live together and participate in Basque society, adopting an intersectional and intercultural approach.
A bordo del tiempo reflects the emotions and thoughts that emerged throughout this process. The work invites to reflect deeply on our present society and the future we want to build. With metaphors as powerful as an abandoned station, a train that symbolizes the journey of life and the need to move the lever to change tracks in order to not to fall to the precipice, A bordo del tiempo highlighted the stories of diverse characters, from the wise and witty elderly women to women who face cultural and social barriers. The real testimonies and poetic reflections offered a mosaic of perspectives on the challenges of living together in a changing world.
The play invites us to look to the future with hope, rescuing the innocence of childhood and the courage of those who fight for change. Between laughter, tears and deep reflections, A bordo del tiempo consolidated itself as an artistic tool to foster critical thinking and build communities that value diversity as an essential pillar for prosperity.
The most striking thing about the stage production is that the protagonists are real people. Their experiences are not only moving, but also invite the public to reflect and dream of more inclusive societies. The central message of the play advocates for equality, respect for human rights, recognition of diversity and peaceful coexistence.
This event has highlighted the transformative power of art and culture as tools to promote a fairer and equitable society. A bordo del tiempo is not only a play, but a call to action and a tribute to the richness of human diversity.
A huge thanks to the audience that filled the room.
