Platos Rotos – 2025 Edition Summary

The fourth edition of the Learning Community “Intercultural Logbook” served to assert our right to participate in cultural life through diversity, listening, and shared creation with a choral, intercultural, and intersectional piece.

During this edition, people from diverse backgrounds, origins, and sensibilities shared months of artistic creation around a common theme: food and the act of eating as a metaphor for life, memory, community, loneliness, inequality, and desire.

It was a project in which culture and the arts became a common and shared space for encounter and social transformation, reflecting on how Basque society interacted, felt, coexisted, and participated from an intersectional and intercultural perspective.

Once again, the Sala BBK in Bilbao was the setting for the presentation of “Platos Rotos” (Broken Plates), the choral piece that was the fruit of those months of work, built on listening and trust, in an open atmosphere, free of constraints and prejudices. Under the direction of Cruz Noguera, the work invited the audience to sit at a symbolic table where there was room for all voices: those who arrived late, those who broke the mold, those who cooked up memories, those who served dignity, those who danced, sang, cried, and laughed.
