"A story written with my eyes, dictated by my soul".
Since she was diagnosed with ALS in December 2014, the life of psychologist Concepción de Águeda Serrano (Bilbao, 1976) has not exactly been a bed of roses. This Thursday 22 December at 18:00 you can find out about her story at the presentation of the book “Cuando la opción es vivir”, which will take place at the BBK Kuna space in Bilbao.
An autobiographical and reflective non-fiction work in which Conchi, as she is known to those closest to her, narrates in first person, with the help of eye-tracking technology – which uses artificial intelligence to help patients with reduced mobility and lack of language to communicate – her experience with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and her fight against this neurodegenerative disease.
Because the book, as highlighted on the cover, is written with her eyes and dictated by her soul. A plea for survival, adaptation and overcoming, and how, by discovering his true self, he manages to stay on the path to happiness despite the terrible consequences of the disease.
The event will be attended by the main character, Conchi de Águeda, the Director of Social Work of BBK Nora Sarasola, the president of Adela Bizkaia Carolina Ramírez and the founder of Dalecandela Jaime Lafita and the Bilbao writer and member of Dalecandela, Alfonso del Río.
