Ainara LeGardon makes a diagnosis of the situation of women creators in the field of music, and offers reflections and proposals for actions to make their work more visible and to highlight its value. The activity includes an open discussion with the public.
This talk is based on the research carried out between 2018 and 2019, which was published in a report by the Basque Government. Each year the data is updated and new advances and experiences are incorporated into the talk.
Biographical note Ainara LeGardon:
Ainara LeGardon (Bilbao, 1976) is a musician and active artist since 1991. She develops a prolific work in the field of rock, improvisation and experimental music, both solo and as part of different collectives and stage projects.
He has presented his music and developed sound pieces and performative actions on stages in Europe and the United States, self-managing his career since 2003.
In parallel to her artistic activity, she carries out extensive work as a researcher and disseminator in the field of cultural management and intellectual property.
She is a member of the Basque Council for Culture, within the Gender Strategies and Policies group. Commissioned by the Basque Government, in 2019 she will produce the report “Situation of women and men in the field of musical creation in the Basque Autonomous Community”.
